Knowing The Different Variations Of Pit BBQ Grills

Fire pits are holes dug in the ground with the use brick, metal, or stone structures. The main purpose of fire pits is to contain fire and not letting it spread. There are pre made pits that are available in stores. Fire pits are recommended to have at least 5 feet from above the fire and 16 inches circumference from the vessels exterior perimeter.

These are only required in order to be safe when containing a fire. These can be made by just simply digging up a hole and putting some bricks or rock pillars. Wood burning fire pits must be away from any structures. One very useful purpose of these are for pit BBQ grills Florida. Barbecue grills are devices that will cook food by heating from below. There are two types of this. One is gas fueled and the other one is charcoal.

In a gas fueled type, it is usually fueled by either propane or natural gas. This has small, medium, or large sizes. Large sized types are used in Florida restaurants for food serving to a hundred number of people. Infrared and flattop grills are two types of this. A flattop is a griddle like surface in which its heating element has a circular form. While the infrared has a radiant burner attached to the back that serves as the heater.

These are the most cheapest and simplest among all kinds. These are made of wire and metal placed on top of pan. Another kind is pelette. Compressed sawdust, water, and vegetable oil are utilized for fueling.

The next variation is a square grill. The square is a composition of the brazier and kettle grill. Like brazier, this is a simple type and adjusting the heat is made simpler. Another one is hibachi, the traditional grill used by the Japanese people and which also means small cooking. It is made from aluminum or cast iron.

Sixth is the kettle and it is considered as one of the most commercially used grill until now. This is composed of lid, charcoal grid, cooking grid, venting system, lower chamber, and legs. Seventh is a cart type. Its form is very similar to a typical grill. It can be in a rectangular form or kettle design. This is consists of hinged lid, charcoal grid, and cooking grid which are mounted to a cart with wheels.

Eighth is barrel and is the most ancient form. It is made of steel barrel that is half length wise. Next is the ceramic cooker design. It is more flexible than the kettle since the ceramic chambers retain moisture and heat more efficiently. This type can be better used for grilling, smoking, and barbecuing foods.

Tandoor ovens involve both grilling and oven cooking. The food is being cooked and placed on long skewers and are heated by wood fire which is placed at the bottom of the oven. And lastly is the portable type which can either be be in a brazier or kettle category.

Hybrid types are used usually for outdoor cooking. Propane, charcoal, or natural gas are used as fuels. And lastly, it is the combination of the techniques in charcoal and wood grill.
