Its also a very good source of potassium which is a type of electrolyte that helps the nerves to function and the muscles to contract. It has been shown that it contains more potassium than any other fruit like banana. This does a great work in preventing cardiovascular diseases and helps in controlling both your heart rate and blood pressure.

Finally, because they contain great amounts of ascorbic acid, they are very effective sources of natural antihistamine. Such is a medication used in the treatment of diseases like hay fever, asthma, insect stings and bite, and other allergic reactions. For the health benefits mentioned above, there is not denying why guava is considered as a super food.
