There are many types to this ingredient. They can add flavor and taste to what you are cooking easily. If you wish to ensure that your guests will love your dish, then these peppers are the best way to go. Here are some of the different types to this ingredient that you should be able to take advantage of when cooking.

First, there are the anaheim, long green pepper, california greens, and chili verde. These are large mild, chili peppers that are known for their thick, bright, and shiny greenish skin. You can easily find the said pepper in supermarkets. While you can find them and use them all year-round, the best season to use them in your dish is during the summer.

Banana peppers, banana chili, sweet banana pepper, and pimento. You can easily distinguish these peppers from the others because of its banana shape. The skin will change from the color of pale yellow to a deep one. If not yellow, then orange. You better remember that this is a different type of pepper from the yellow wax peppers.

Cascabel. Another type of pepper that you should be able to use in your dish, you have to get this to obtain a rich nutty flavor. You can bring out that rich nutty flavor by toasting the cascabel. Of course, you should remember to pick the dried ones for your dish because they taste better than the fresh ones.

Another type to list are the cayenne pepper, ginnie pepper, bird pepper, and finger chili. You will be needing any of these peppers when you are making Cajun recipes. These are also used in sauces and salsas. You can easily identify them with their wrinkled and very pungent thick fleshed fruit.

Cherry pepper, bird cherry pepper, creole cherry pepper, and hungarian cherry pepper. You can add them to any dish to make it spicy too. To note a cherry pepper from the other types, you just have to see its diameter. It can only measure one and three-fourths inch, after all. They are fleshy as well as heavily seeded.

Jalapeno pepper. This is another pepper which you can easily use when you are making a hot dish. The jalapeno peppers give off a more sumptuous and full taste when they are smoke dried. The outcome of the dish will be significantly hotter compare to when you use immature green peppers.

The fresno pepper is another one too. The bright green color will eventually change to the orange and red color when it fully matures. You can easily identify the fresno peppers because they have conical shapes. They are a bit similar to the jalapeno peppers, only that they have a thinner wall. They are great to add to your salsa.
