More Event Planners Are Choosing Healthy Catering

A lot of people have embraced the foodie culture for a number of reasons. There are now many mediums that show the public how to fall in love with food and cooking. From online tutorials that show how to make the simplest of recipes to TV shows that describe new ingredients in detail, there is a place for just about everyone. These days, healthy catering services are becoming popular with individuals and businesses.

The foodie attitude is not just a trend but a movement that is about enjoying life and good food. It has also raised consciousness about what a person eats every day and how it impacts the planet. For some, people are more careful about what they eat as well as the portion. When one eats a balanced meal, they should not want to eat junk food afterward.

While filling, these also made people feel sluggish or lethargic. With less energy comes decreased productivity, and eventually a suppressed immune system. Over time, the power lunch became less popular with working adults.

Another movement that resulted from the foodie culture is meatless meals. This may have resulted from some people gaining weight from the power lunches and other calorie laden meals. People soon discovered that vegetarian, or vegan, foods are not only healthy but taste really good.

Meatless entrees from the past have come a long way in the sense that some can pass its carnivore doppelganger. The use of grains, rice, and mashed beans with seasoning not only make some dishes look appetizing but are also filling. This is a nice change from eating only leafy vegetables all day long. There are many vegetables that can also be made into lightly fried finger foods, which is a nice alternative to potato chips.

For those who just want to cut the excess fat intake, there are other options like becoming a pescetarian, or one that only eats seafood. While some like to have their fish fried, the right seasoning will do a baked or broiled recipe justice. Anyone who desires more sustenance can add roasted root vegetables that are dark in color to their seafood entree.

Eating better does not have to end with food, as sugary drinks can be a culprit when more than the recommended serving is consumed. Alcohol, juice cocktails and soda can be dangerous in large amounts but water offers several benefits. Besides aiding in digestion, they can also add a feeling up fullness while eating a meal. Some people add a fruit slice if the taste is too bland.

These days, people share international recipes with the public that sound or smell delicious. Others will duplicate and place their own spin on the dish and then it is passed on to others who will repeat the cycle. Along the way, an individual will discover seasonings and spices that will prove to be a healthier alternative to butter, cream, and white flour. Others may just cut back on things like processed sugar, and meats that are heavily marbled with fat or processed.
