Beers And How It Is Actually Made

By Melissa Carter

Those who are not used to drinking beer would say that it tastes generally bitter. However, little did they know, those who are enthusiasts of such beverage would find that gist of bitterness something delicious as it goes down and they feel the after taste. Sure, it is true that not all beers do taste the same because manufacturers do have their own secret ingredient and processes to possibly make it. One thing that helps to create the quality it has would sure be the type of grain being used and the way it has been brewed. Using a perfect brewery grain mill is such a game changer for beer producers.

True enough, there are lots of people who admits they are an enthusiast for beers and there has to be so many of them. With that being said, business that involves its production sure would hit so long as it tastes acceptable to these targeted people. For those who are quite thinking whether they would go for such industry, here are some insights on how it is produces to make it easier for them to decide.

It would all begin on the milling of grain where different types of malt are crushed all at the same time. This would break up the grain kernels which will create an extracted fermentable sugar. That would then be used to produce the milled product which is often referred to as the grist.

Right after that, they will get all those liquid converted into mash. They would normally do it through an equipment name mash tun. It is where the grist is being boiled and heated at some point and some period of time with a water. This process gets to use the natural enzyme in mash so it breaks everything down into sugars.

Then those mash will later be pumped into a lauter tun. This is where a sweet liquid gets to be secreted out of the mixture. It basically is known as the wort.

These liquid named wort will all be collected and placed in one vessel named kettle. And while they are on that container, they will usually be boiled for quite some time. Though they have to be careful because the heating on this step needs to be a little controlled especially once the hops are added.

When the boiling is all set and done, the whirlpool is the next stop of the mixture where some separation has to happen. Because there is grains and malts involved, of course it should be normal to find some particles around the liquid lurking and they have to be removed and filtered. After they have made sure no particle is left, they get to ready the fluid for the fermentation.

Once the liquid is considered clear enough, fermentation takes place. They do it by adding a yeast into the wort which removes its sugary texture and converts it into a beer. This basically is where the introduction of alcohol takes place along with the adding of secret flavors and ingredients that could enhance its taste. By the later part of which, sparkle is added by putting a certain amount of carbon dioxide to it.

Once done, the procedure has almost come to an end as maturation will then follow. This is where the beer has to reach certain maturity or full development of flavors which would be equated to a smooth taste finish. And once that specific stage is done, the beer is already ready for the cellaring process that usually takes about four weeks the maximum. And right after that, all is set and the beer is ready for either packaging or consumption.
