A Gourmet Pasta Sauce With Pesto

When it comes to making pasta, the main factor as to whether the dish will be good or not will actually be the sauce simply because sauces are what gives flavor to the dish. Now one of the best ways to make a gourmet pasta sauce would be to use pesto as a base for making the sauce. Now this recipe is a simple one but at the same time very delicious.

Now the ingredients for this dish would include mushrooms, basil leaves, some garlic, and pesto spread. The first step in the cooking process would be to cut the garlic clove and the mushrooms so that they are small. For hygiene purposes, also never forget to wash the ingredients.

After the preparations are complete, then one should now prepare his frying pan and put it over the stove to heat it a little bit. The next step would be to pour some olive oil on the pan and make sure that the entire pan is covered. From there, he may put all of the chopped garlic into the pan.

Once all of the garlic is dumped in, then the next step would be to saute the garlic until it smells really good and turns light brown. After it has already reached this stage, then the next thing to do would be to dump in the mushrooms. Of course the mushrooms also need to be handled well.

After doing the mushrooms, then one should now dump in the basil leaves in order to add the herb taste. One thing that amateur cooks should know about basil leaves is that they shrivel up when they are exposed to heat for a very long time. With this in my, one should make sure never to cook the leaves for a long time otherwise the leaves will lose their strong taste.

After doing this, then one may now add some of the pesto spread into the pan. Now the amount that one should put inside would really depend on how much taste he would want the sauce to have. So if one would want the dish to have a very strong taste of pesto, then all he has to do is to add some more pesto spread.

Once everything has been mixed, then the last part would be to add a little bit of water. When that is done, one may already dump the sauce on to the cooked pasta for it to be mixed. Once they are mixed together, then another portion of olive oil must be added in order to make sure that the pasta is not too dry.

So as one can see, this recipe for gourmet pasta sauce is quite simple to do but it is also very delicious to eat. Of course if one would want to give more flavor to his creation, then he can actually add some walnuts or pine nuts. If he wants a little bit of spiciness, then he can actually put some chili flakes on top.
