Fare That Is A Part Of Pomona Mexican Food

Throughout the decades since the country's founding, millions of immigrants have come to America. Many of them did not leave behind what they knew and found familiar, however. They brought with them aspects from their culture including foods that they consumed on a regular basis. This is no exception for people who came to the U. S. From Mexico. They also took with them recipes that would soon become part of everyday American culture. These dishes now are commonplace to Pomona Mexican food.

Immigrants from this country took with them the recipe for tortillas. Tortillas are like bread in this culture. They are made from a dough that is called masa. Masa is made from either white flour or ground yellow corn. It is mixed with water to make a dough from which small balls are formed. The balls are then rolled out thin and then fried or baked to make tortillas.

Tortillas are used in a variety of dishes including burritos and enchiladas. Burritos have increasingly become Americanized and are now a staple in the American diet. They have fillings that range from meat and cheese to beans and onions. They can be baked or fried.

Enchiladas are another dish that is popular with Americans. Also made from white flour tortillas, they are filled with ingredients like cheese, meat, and chicken. They are covered with a sauce made out of red chili and then topped with shredded cheese. The entire dish is baked and then served hot.

Another one of the basic ingredients common to many dishes from the country is beans. The most common variety of beans is either pinto or black beans. When they are boiled and mashed, they make a dish called refried beans. Refried beans are used to fill the inside of burritos. They also are served plain as a side dish.

Rice is another important food from the country. White rice or brown rice make up the basis of many dishes. Spanish rice, for example, is made out of white rice and has picante sauce, tomatoes, cheese, onions, and peppers in it. You can eat this dish plain or add it to fare like enchiladas or burritos. It is a common side dish served in restaurants.

When it comes to desserts, many restaurants will serve fried ice cream. Fried ice cream is not really fried. Instead, it is vanilla ice cream placed on a sugared tortilla. It also has cinnamon, caramel, and whipped cream added to it. It is a very sweet dish and many times shared among people sitting at the same table. Flan is another popular dessert from this country. Flan is like a pudding served in cake form.

The variations of Mexican food might surprise you. Many of the most common dishes are already a part of the standard American diet. People consume them on a frequent basis. You could find this fare at restaurants that specialize in this type of fare. Likewise, you have the option of cooking and serving it up to your family at home.
