Mung Bean Recipes And Their Various Benefits

Some people may choose to try a mung bean recipes, or to just leave it alone, in fear of how the food will taste. When you buy dried produce, especially in seed form, from the farmers market, or the local convenience store, you normally need to soak it in water for a few hours, so that it does not take too long to cook. You can also choose to use a pressure cooker. However, if you are not careful this might turn your food into pulp. With green grams, you can leave them in water for about two hours and they will be ready to cook.

Once you start using these legumes, you will discover the various ways you can prepare them. This can be by putting them in a vegetable stew, in a curry, as part of your desert, or even in a soup. Their versatility is one thing that makes them very attractive to many cooks. They can also be cooked on their own, and eaten with bread or rice.

When you decide to cook them in a stew, you will need onions, tomatoes, garlic, coriander and spices. After caramelizing the onions and the tomatoes, you will add the coriander and spices, and then let it cook for a while, until the tomatoes form a thick puree. You will then pour in the green grams and the crushed garlic. If you like your food with soup, add some water. If you want to try something different, add coconut milk to the mixture and let it simmer. When using coconut milk, you should avoid using tomatoes.

Very many people are embracing plant based diets. One concern for most of them though, is that they need to eat a lot of vegetables, to get enough protein. Feeding on green grams will provide you with almost as much protein, as you got from meat. These plants have compounds which act as tumor inhibitors, which is very good in a world with rising cancer cases.

Most people think that green leafy vegetables and grains like oats are the only sources of fiber. Consuming greens grams, provides the body with both soluble and insoluble fibers. The soluble fibers form a gel-like substance, which can help lower cholesterol, while the insoluble fibers are good for normal bowel movements.

People who suffer for liver problems and heart problems are also encouraged to start including these beans, in their meal plans. They are good for maintaining a good liver and a strong heart, with chemical substances like lecithin, which normalize liver functions.

If you keep getting health problems because your body is not getting rid of toxins efficiently, you need to add these beans to your diet. They are also very handy if you have a hangover, as they will get rid of the symptoms. The fact that they have compounds, which stimulate the release of collagen and elastin, is very good for keeping your skin looking young, and healthy.
