The seed is good for consumption due to its protein content. Initially known as moong or green gram, mung bean sprouts was and still is being cultivated in Southeast Asia, China and India.

Both sweet dishes and savory use it as an ingredient. These Moong seed can be used to make various cuisines especially across Asia. If a person wants to cook the whole seed, they are first dried and later boiled until they become soft. To identify this moong seed, they are light yellow basically in color when the skin is shed off or removed.

Some people may find it difficult to identify these moong seed but not to worry. To accurately identify moong bean, one can watch out for light yellow color if their skin is shed off. Mung seed paste basically is manufactured by pulverizing, dehulling and lastly cooking the moong seed until they form dry paste.

Mung beans to those people who are not familiar with them, it is a small and green legume found in the same family as peas and also lentils. In most countries or states these seeds are not so much popular compared to other bean types or varieties such as chickpeas and black beans.
