How To Define Halal Rations

In the Islamic law halal rations represent the amount of food that believers are allowed to eat. It mostly focuses on poultry and meat products. This law also dictates how processing of meat ought to be done. It lists down a variety of lawful foods that are prescribed in the diet of Islam according to guidelines.

The Quran is the base of all these guidelines. Muslims for example are not permitted to eat pork or pig products, they are also not allowed to consume meat from cattle or animals that were slaughtered after they had died from other causes. Blood consumption is illegal in the eyes of the law. All animals must be respected and subjected to minimal pain when being slaughtered.

Believers are asked to treat all animals with respect whether they are alive or dead. Cutting of the jugular which is located on the neck is the best method that Islam deems lawful in animal slaughtering. All the meat shops that follow these regulations are given a certification that enables believers to only purchase products from them.

Believers are required to eat a main course everyday and some complementary foods that will all fall in line with the recommended nutritional requirements. This does not mean that the food is insufficient to sustain the individual. Afterwards, the meals are properly packed in hygienic bags that come with napkins, utensils and flavors or spices. This ration is made to last for a long durations depending on the weather and conditions they are kept in.

When packaged the meals are ready to eat without the need for cooking. Alternatively, one may decide to cook the foods again or heat them in ovens or microwaves. The package is built to endure high levels of temperatures and so an individual can plunge them in hot water for a quicker warmer meal.

It is the responsibility of manufacturing companies to clearly label their food products so that it is easier for buyers to distinguish them from the rest, labeling also displays the nutritional content of the meal. Buyers ought to ensure that they purchase balanced dieted meals. In the same way, they must check that the contents on the labels are similar to the meals itself.

If the buyer is satisfied with the content of the food, the next step is to assess the expiry date and shelf life of the product. Rations are processed to enable them to stay for many days on shelves without going bad. They can have a span of three to ten months depending on the condition they are in. Goods past their expiry dates may be risky for human consumption.

Halal rations now a days are being processed by a lot of companies as they see it as an emerging product in the market. The best market for these products is the military because most armies offer their diverse members just one uniform meal; this can infringe on the rights of many especially Muslims. However, halal foods have made sure that Muslims in the army still follow the Islamic guidelines and at the same time get good and proper nutrition while in the line of duty.
