How To Cook Cajun Eggs

By Elena McDowell

Cajun eggs are known to be a very interesting dish because it combines the delicious taste of the egg with the hot and spicy goodness of the Cajun seasoning that many people are actually very fond of. Fortunately, making this dish is extremely easy and also very enjoyable at the exact same time which means that pretty much everyone can make this dish. So if one likes egg dishes and likes to cook, then this recipe will definitely be a good one to try out.

The ingredients are quite simple because they just include some eggs, a stick of butter, green onions, some bell peppers, milk, and some crawfish tails. As for the Cajun seasoning, one has to make sure to buy the really spicy one so that the dish will have a real kick. If he likes it really spicy, then an optional ingredient would be hot sauce.

The very first thing to do would be to get the butter and place it inside the skillet so that it can heat up. Remember that one will be using the oil of the butter as the oil that will cook the egg dish and make it form later on. Since butter has a really nice taste, it will also make the dish have a really good taste when the egg dish has already been formed completely.

When the butter has already fully melted on the pan, take the chopped onions and the peppers and dump them in there. From there, saute the two vegetables until they smell really good and are a little bit more tender. It will take around five minutes before the two vegetables will reach this state.

When the two vegetables are done sauteing after the five minutes, then the next thing to do would be to dump in the crawfish tails. Always remember that in order to see if the crawfish tails are already cooked, they have to turn light pink first. This would take about one to two minutes to cook.

Once that has been done, the last thing to do would be to deal with the eggs. To do this, first get a small bowl, pour in the eggs, the milk, and of course the Cajun seasoning. After pouring everything in, whisk all of the ingredients together until the entire thing is mixed.

Take note that this has to be done over a medium fire otherwise it will not be cooked properly. If it is done over a high fire, then the mix will easily get burned. If it is done over a fire that is way too low, then the egg will not be formed properly at all.

After the scrambling has been properly done, one now has a complete dish of Cajun eggs. As started above, if he likes it a little extra spicy, then he can put some hot sauce over the eggs so that the exotic dish can have a little bit more kick. If he does not like it to be too hot, then he may opt not to put the hot sauce.
